Q. Are Kink & Coil products only for people with kinky, coily, and curly hair?
A. Not at all! Straight and wavy textures can also benefit from everything from our masks and oils to our satin-lined apparel.

Q. Where is Kink & Coil located?
A. We're proudly Canadian (and family-run)! We operate out of Toronto, and we ship internationally.

Q. Does Kink & Coil have any physical stores?
A. Not presently, but you can catch us at pop-up markets in Toronto and the GTA throughout the year. Follow us on social media and/or subscribe to our newsletter to find out where we'll be next.

Q. Does Kink & Coil sell wholesale?
A. Not officially; we negotiate on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us with details about your business and expected quantities so we can get the ball rolling.

Q. What's the return/exchange policy?
A. Changed your mind? No problem. You can email us at info@kinkandcoil.com to request a return label within 60 days of purchase. If your item is undamaged, we will provide a full refund minus the original shipping fees you paid at purchase.



Q. How long does shipping take?
A. It depends on where you'd like it delivered and which shipping speed you choose. Please note large orders and purchases placed during busy times (ex: sales events, holidays, etc) may take longer. Our lead time is normally 1-3 business days from when we receive your payment, but again, this could vary. Here's generally what you can expect after that:

Canada: approx. 4-9 business days*
US: approx. 5-14 business days*
International: approx. 1-8 weeks*

All shipping within Canada includes tracking. Tracking is not always included for deliveries outside of Canada, so please select the option that offers tracking if you require this service. More precise shipping times are available on the check-out screen before you complete your purchase.

Q. It has been several days and my order hasn't shipped yet. How come?
A. There might be a hold on your payment, which means we haven't received it yet. Rest assured that once it's gone through we'll place your order in the mail. Alternatively, there could be a delay if you placed a large order, or if it's a busy time of year (ex: sales events, public holidays, etc). Thanks for your patience!

Q. Why doesn't my shipping confirmation email contain tracking info?
A. You selected a shipping option that doesn't have this feature, but rest assured, your order is on its way.

Q. Do I have to pay for customs fees, import taxes, or other duties?
A. It depends on where you live and the size of your order. Most orders destined for locations outside of Canada will not incur extra fees. However, some countries do impose taxes and handling fees on incoming packages. These charges must be paid before delivery and unfortunately we cannot reimburse customers at this time.

If your shipping address is in the United Kingdom you may be required to pay additional customs and Royal Mail handling fees. We therefore recommend purchasing our products from our friends at Naturalistic Products in the UK to avoid this extra expense and take advantage of faster shipping.

Wholesale orders will likely incur customs fees, the payment of which you will be responsible for as outlined in our Privacy Policy & Terms of Use.



Q. How do I wash my satin-lined beanie?
A. If your beanie has a pompom, we recommend popping it off (it's attached with a snap button) before hand-washing in lukewarm water. Then lay the beanie flat to dry.

Q. How do I wash my satin-lined cap?
A. We recommend flipping it inside-out and washing on the gentle setting in cold water with similar colours.

Q. How do I wash my satin-lined headband?
A. We recommend hand-washing in lukewarm water, then laying the headband flat to dry.

Q. Do the beanies, headbands, and caps come in any other sizes, and do they stretch?
A. We currently carry one size of each product, but they're fairly stretchy. The maximum dimensions are listed on each product page. Be sure to follow us on social media and/or subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when we add more sizes.

Q. How do I remove the pompom?
A. Simply slip your thumbnail between the two washers and the pompom will snap off like a button.

Q. When will different colours or designs be available?
A. We're constantly adding new products and varieties, so follow us on social media and/or join our mailing list to be notified.



Q. Can I apply the masks on locs or protective styles?
A. Yes! Our masks can help remove buildup and restore moisture to locs and protective styles. Just make sure you take the time to thoroughly rinse it out.

Q. Can I mix different powders together?
A. Absolutely! Just make sure you thoroughly incorporate them together so you get even coverage on your hair.

Q. Should I apply the mask before or after shampooing?
A. It's totally up to you. Most people apply the mask first, then either rinse or shampoo it out. Everyone's hair is different, though, so we suggest experimenting to see what works best for you.
